About Dillon

He stood for hours, listening endlessly to the language at the edge of the forest. Over time he came to understand the dialects spoken, how the trees would roar and the creeks would cry. And as the sun would cast its golden rays down upon the earth day in and day out, he continued to stand facing the wall of timber and vine and listen to its majesty. Tempted to go in, but never swayed to action, Dillon Henry became the Keeper of all creation's dreams.      - Dillon '07

From No Hood

Some people hear OJ
And they think vitamin C,
I say damn the ignorant,
Corrupt justice is what I see,
A trial bought with riches built from a game,
OJ was guilty let his name saturate in shame.

Sounds to me like the ignorant need their vitamins,
Not that pill they take when they need their fix,
Like a broke whore in search of some tricks,
Because quick cash, quick schemes, and quick things,
Run circles in their mind like black eyes hanging over tired rings.

Modernly, we are at a loss for talent,
As I see it,
Some drop linguistic verses,
Robbing other writers like old woman's purses,
We need a raw, ruthless, un-harvested palette,
To drop havoc on our culture like it was a steel mallet.

I'm from no hood, other than the one around my head,
But I'll rep the people who helped feather my bed,
A lover of the arts,
Broken limbs and broken hearts,
Chemistry, physics and calculus.
Make no sense to me like segregation on a bus.

Inspired at heart and sickened by corruption,
I find my inner depth through other's perspiration.
Like stories of Martin Luther King Junior leading the path,
Or Mahatma K. Ghandi freeing a country from its past.
Liberals cloud my destiny and I have a clear view,
My conscience can't be broken by a warlord's coup.
